See retention by order number

Retention analysis can now show retention by order number as well as by month. If you deliver every 4 weeks, every 6 weeks or quarterly, a month column mixes subscribers who have received different numbers of orders. Order numbers show where subscribers actually stop.

  • Switch views on the same page. Choose By order number above the retention table to see one row per order, from Order 1 to Order 12 or more. Each row shows how many subscribers reached that order, the share retained and the drop-off from the order before.
  • Only paid orders count. Skipped cycles and failed payments aren't orders, so each row is about orders your subscribers actually received.
  • New subscribers aren't counted as lost. A subscriber who has had 3 orders and is still active hasn't failed to reach their 4th, so they're left out of the later rows until they get there. Hover a percentage to see how many subscribers reached the order and how many are still on their way.
  • Follows your failed payments setting. As in the monthly view, Settings → General → Failed payments decides whether a subscription with a failed payment still counts as active.

Unlike the monthly view, this view isn't limited to the last 12 months. It leaves out subscriptions imported from another app and subscriptions that started before you installed Kaching, because their earlier orders aren't recorded.

You can also ask Ching, for example "How many of my subscribers make it to their 3rd order?"

You'll find it under Analytics → Retention analysis: choose By order number.
